Interbay P-Patch Garden Shed and Kiosk
Interbay P-Patch, "The garden between the bays," Seattle is one of the largest Washington [citation needed] and most involved [citation needed] community gardens, and is recognized as one [citation needed] example the ingenuity and sustainability.
City residents can rent up 400square feet (37m2) of space in the garden of the city every year. Gardeners can grow whatever they wish with the exception of trees or large shrubs and the production of each plot is owned by the gardener. Over 4,400 square feet (410m2) of space garden along the fence are devoted to gardening, food banks, which traditionally contributes around two tons of products to food banks in the community each year. The east side of the garden has an orchard of plum, pear and apple trees, many of which gardeners moved from the front garden location. Honey from the hives are in a secure compound near the back of the garden.
Gardeners garden originally established in 1974 as one of the first P-patch locations in the city. First found in landfills is now the northwest corner of Interbay driving range with golf courses in the Centre, the garden has moved twice. Since spring 1997, has been at its present site extends north from the street along 15th Avenue West Wheeler.
Finding a permanent home for the Interbay P-Patch was a long and difficult process. Four years later, in 1996, the city has announced plans for a golf course. Gardeners feared Interbay P-Patch was doomed. But with the 1980 resolution still in force and broad public support, Interbay P-Patch survived. The City Council approved a new resolution allocating funds to move the Interbay P-Patch plot and ensure equal or better than existing gardens. The resolution guaranteed gardeners 18inches (460 mm) of soil and raised beds.
Due that the new ground was dead, began again Interbay serious composting and soil building efforts. In addition to recycling material from garden plants, cut grass of local gardeners who do not use pesticides or herbicides, and deliveries of leaf city street and parks departments are recycled to make tons of manure organic.

Beam Schutte designed and built the entrance walkway of pavers and planter in 2006 first used from stones as ballast from ships prior to installation in Seattle's Occidental Park. When the city redesigned the park, Interbay P-Patch was fortunate to receive these cobblestones.
The 30-foot (9 meter) flagpole aluminum was one of the first 50 poles placed in front of the 1962 World's Fair Pavilion of the flag.
CAST design / build designed Interbay award-winning tool shed / library / kitchen, completed in 2002. The barn and surrounding open space are the focal point for many community events including casual Friday night, Saturday lunch, a celebration of New Year, and several fundraisers garden each year. CAST design / build also designed the kiosk, added in 2004. Lease Crutcher Lewis Materals donated, and a Starbucks grant helped pay for the kiosk. Gardener and facilities Swee Coordinator Bruce kiosk designed water feature in the long run to honor Anne and Interbay gardeners Mac Magruder, who planted the vine.
