Where is Zapotec in Mexico?
I know this is an ignorant question, as I am completely ignorant with respect to Mexico (with exception of Cancun and Cozumel) – but I'm looking for a place called Zapotec. Google it and apparently there are several Zapotec. Many years ago I worked with a woman there. She said it was a beautiful little town with cobblestone streets and if you could, you should visit. I'm thinking she said it was near the mountains. I would like know more about it, but I'm not sure it is Zapotec. Any enlightenment would be greatly appreciated.
No, not an ignorant? my dear, I have relatives far from the indigenous Zapotec of Oaxaca who have lived their for a short time myself. Never heard of a town or a city called Zapotec, but she may have been describing a place in the state of Oaxaca, where the Zapotec (Indians) lived and originated.All Oaxaca is beautiful mainly because it allows the industry in its and that is because they are in tune with nature (without pollution). Look for Serranos de la Sierra Madre de Oaxaca, these people were good crafts.When lived Moutian I visited the city in Oaxaca Benito Juarez, Mexico's beloved President, which I think was Zapotec.Anyway on the way to your town we passed many beautiful vilage along the way, some sitting on the hillsides and others were among many mountian areas.If trees ever have the chance to go to Mexico, I recommend travel to Oaxaca, which is a large archaeological zone and the Capitol, you will see some interesting things about the city of Oaxaca their.The cobbled streets and is very cultural.I really believe that the lady was talking about the Zapotec.
